Just in time for their first match in front of the 17s at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta United is as healthy as they've been this season. Just two players were listed on the club's Friday availability report ahead of Saturday night's mach against Real Salt Lake.
Dominik Chong Qui, who suffered a knee injury in the preseason, enters back into match eligibility after missing the first two matches of the season. Jay Fortune is still listed as out while recovering from last season's foot injury, though he's been active in training over the last couple of weeks. Fortune spoke about his return on the latest episode of The Guuuzan Show. It's been a long road for the Homegrown midfielder, but he's nearing his return.Â
"It wasn't always easy, but it's built me into the person I am now," Fortune said of his recovery process on the podcast. "It adds that extra bit of toughness and grit every time I step out on the field."
Will Reilly continues to nurse a hamstring injury he picked up in the early days of the regular season. The midfielder has been getting his sprints in at training to work himself back to full health.Â
The near-full-strength 5-Stripes will kick off against Real Salt Lake at 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday night. Grab your tickets to see them here!
