ATLANTA (Sept. 24, 2026) — During the live 2026 MLS NEXT Pro Pick-Your-Opponent Selection Show, Atlanta United 2 yesterday selected No. 7 seed CT United FC to be its opponent in the first round of the MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs, the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. As the No. 3 seed, Atlanta earned the right to host a team of its choice among remaining No. 5-9 seeds following priority selections from the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds. The match will take place at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground on Friday, Oct. 16, at 6 p.m.
Current Atlanta United Season Ticket Members and past ATL UTD 2 attendees will have access to purchase tickets beginning Tuesday, Sept. 29. Tickets will then go on sale to the general public on Thursday, Oct. 1.
Atlanta (14-9-5, 48 points) heads into its first-ever playoff appearance after a historic season in which it tallied its most ever wins, points, goals and assists. Additionally, forward Arif Kovac took home the 2026 Golden Boot after scoring 20 goals, the joint-second most in league history for a single season, while midfielder Cameron Dunbar took home the 2026 Playmaker of the Year Award after providing 13 assists, tying the league's all-time single season record. In its previous and only matchup against CT United FC this season, Atlanta secured a 4-1 victory in its final regular season home match on Sept. 8.
