Atlanta United 2 forward Arif Kovac has been named the MLS NEXT Pro Player of the Matchweek for Matchweek 11, the league announced on Tuesday. Kovac, in a historic performance against Huntsville City on Saturday, May 16, scored five goals and provided an assist, earning him the MLSNP record for goals and goal contributions in a single match.
In addition to his scoring records, Kovac's performance saw him claim the ATL UTD 2 record for most shots in a match with nine, as well as the most shots on target in a match with seven. Kovac now sits joint-third in MLSNP in both total goals (7) and goal contributions (10) with just 451 minutes played.
